About the Event

This experience is an interactive nature walk that will last approximately 75 minutes per group. In keeping with Covid protocols we ask that you wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart at all times. There are a few chairs and blankets located throughout the event, but there is a lot of standing and walking. Please know that there is a livestream of the event that will be displayed on the website and documented for archival purposes and for those who will be attending virtually. The weather will be cool so be sure to wear layers and comfy walking shoes. We will provide hand sanitizer at entrance/exit.

This experience takes place at sunset on Oct 31st and Nov 1st (be advised that Nov 1st is daylight savings!)

Location: Our event will be held at the Chadwick Arboretum North: https://chadwickarboretum.osu.edu/our-gardens/arboretum-north

Put the following address into your GPS: 2201 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus, OH 43210. Arboretum North is located west of Fred Taylor Drive across from the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The entrance is just north of the Nationwide Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center at 2201 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus, OH 43210.

Parking: Parking is available in the 4H building parking lot. Parking permits will be available by docent when you arrive.

When you arrive, we ask you to stay in your car and/or assemble on the gravel path near the parking lot until the time you signed up for is called. If you are early, this is a great time to visit the bathroom in the 4H building! Once you are checked in and assigned to a docent you will be on your way!

Bathrooms: In the 4H building

Accessibility Information:

Wheelchair accessibility considerations:

  • There is only one accessible parking spot, please denote in registration during ticket reservation.
  • The parking lot below is an 8% slope to the Encore house. This is not easily accessible for manual chairs and “possible” for powered chairs.
  • The 3 ½-4 ft wide path around the lake is a relatively level path at a 4% slope with less than a 1-inch layer of hard-packed mulch. There are multiple paths at the venue. The terrain and texture include large gravel or rock usable by cars, packed mulch, and brick.

Hearing Accessibility

  • Some QR Codes will have text written of the audio.

Visually-Impaired

  • Some QR Codes will have audio description for the performances

Bathrooms

  • Accessible Bathrooms in the 4-H Building

Be advised that Nov 1st is daylight savings so be sure to fall back before you come to the Arboretum!
